Project Tech4Dev is a vertical under Dasra that aims to be a high performing tech enabler for nonprofits. At Project Tech4Dev, we provide solutions ranging from providing open source platforms to NGOs to building tech capacity in nonprofits. We equip non-profits with the technology they need to amplify their impact. Our open source platforms include- Glific – Communication Platform, Dalgo – Data Platform, and Avni – Field Data Collection Platform. We also build tech and data capacity in nonprofits by placing seasoned technology professionals with our Fractional CxO Program. Find more about our initiatives here.
Role details
Skills & Competencies
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Science/AI/ML, including at least 3 years of deep AI expertise, and over 5 years of technology-related management experience leading teams of 5 or more people.
• Experience running an engineering / research team of at least 3-5 members
• Experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with deep learning and natural language processing.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of machine learning algorithms, with a preferred focus on NLP.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, and/or PyTorch.
• Clear understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) & related AI technologies
• Passion for staying up to date with the latest advancements in AI & ML.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Passionate about building the next generation of equitable AI technology for organizations in the social sector
Responsibilities
• To develop and scale technology platforms with a focus on incorporating the latest advances from the tech and data world, specifically with regard to AI/ML/LLM.
• Build and manage a small but mighty high-performance team of engineers
• Set the technical direction for the team, drive the evolution of the system architecture, and make appropriate technology choices in terms of the latest technology.
• Design, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms, with a focus on Generative AI and language models in partnership with our NGOs
• Analyse and preprocess large datasets to extract meaningful insights for model development and/or finetuning.
• Evaluate and experiment with various machine learning models, frameworks, and techniques to investigate robustness and equity of LLMs in the Indian / Global South setting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives with organizational goals.
• Ensure project management excellence, handling timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Pay Range
• We expect to hire candidates with significant differences in years of experience, skill level and reasons for moving to the social sector. As such, our pay range is a bit broader than normal
• The pay range for this position is expected to be between 30 LPA and 45 LPA
• Our goal is to build a great working environment and workplace culture and give folks the opportunity to visit and work with NGOs, attend local and national conferences, and work as a group once a quarter at a nice location and place.
