Sprint in Ahmedabad, Gujarat: An Experience to Remember

Jan 2026

During the first few days in Ahmedabad, we focused on getting to know each other beyond just roles and screens.

We had open team interactions that helped us connect more closely, build trust, and understand how everyone contributes to Glific.

Neembadi, the place where we stayed, was surrounded by nature and greenery, making it a perfect setting for our sprint.

The campus was spacious and beautiful, giving everyone plenty of room to relax, talk, and connect outside of work. We were even lucky enough to spot peacocks moving freely around the property, which made the experience feel even more special.

The food was great, and the peaceful environment added to the overall comfort and energy of the team. Whenever we had free time, we gathered on the ground to play cricket, which quickly became one of the most fun parts of the trip. We even had a full team match, and our team ended up winning.

Although my bowling didn’t go as planned, Ishan managed to hit a six on almost every ball I bowled, it was all part of the fun. What mattered most was playing together, laughing, and creating memories that made the sprint even more meaningful.

The next day, we went out together for a group trip across Ahmedabad.

We explored several famous places, including different museums, the Atal Tunnel, and the Gandhi Museum, where we learned about history, culture, and saw many interesting artifacts from the past. It was fascinating to understand Gujarat’s heritage and the stories behind these landmarks.

In the evening, we headed to the local markets for some shopping. Even though I didn’t buy anything, I truly enjoyed walking around and spending time with the team,it was more about the experience than the purchases.

Later, we went to a hotel and enjoyed an authentic Gujarati thali, which gave us a wonderful taste of the region’s rich food culture, followed by an amazing Gujarati dance show.

We also came across an astrologer, and many of us showed our palms to get our futures read. It was both funny and entertaining, and everyone joined in, making it one of the most memorable moments of the day.

The next day was Maker Day at Glific.
Everyone came prepared with an idea to build and work on, and the energy in the room was incredible as teams started turning ideas into real prototypes.

I also built something of my own. It wasn’t a big feature, but it was highly useful for NGOs ,a “Copy Node” feature inside the Flow Editor, which allows users to duplicate a node easily. This has been a long-standing and highly requested feature, and I was able to successfully build a working prototype for it.

The experience was packed with learning , from understanding the product more deeply to building something that directly impacts how NGOs use Glific. Maker Day gave me a much better perspective on how small but thoughtful improvements can make a big difference to the product.

On the last night, we had a wonderful Garba night with the entire team.

A professional trainer was invited to teach us Gujarati dance steps, and everyone joined in with great enthusiasm. Even after the trainer left, the team kept dancing, one by one, enjoying the rhythm and the fun together.

After the dance session, we had a barbecue with a variety of delicious food. We spent the rest of the evening eating, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company, making it a perfect ending to an unforgettable sprint.
